Hey! I've done two videos on this now: "Did They Really Find Noah's Ark?" and the one above, where a headline said Noah's Ark was "100% confirmed." I called it clickbait on camera. After I stopped recording, I wanted to make sure I wasn't just being a skeptic, so I checked where things actually stand.
What's actually been found (so far)
- The site: a boat-shaped formation called Durupinar, in eastern Turkey near Mount Ararat. People have been looking at it since a pilot photographed it in 1959.
- The new work: a team with a Turkish university and government permits ran new radar scans, then started core drilling in September 2026.
- What they hit: a hard layer a few meters down that broke a drill bit. The team thinks it could be petrified wood. That's a possibility, not a result.
- When we'll know more: lab results on the samples aren't expected until 2027.
- The history: a Christian team drilled the same spot back in 1988 and reported hitting layered bedrock, not wood. Today's team says their tech goes much deeper, so they want a fresh look.
So "100% confirmed"? Not even close. It's "interesting, and we're testing." That's very different, and it's okay to say so.
The first to speak in court sounds right—until the cross-examination begins.Proverbs 18:17 (NLT)
That's every big headline. Wait for the cross-examination.
What the Bible actually says about the location
Exactly five months from the time the flood began, the boat came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.Genesis 8:4 (NLT)
Notice it says the mountains of Ararat, plural. That's a region (ancient Urartu), not one specific peak. So even the Bible doesn't hand us a GPS pin. That surprised me.
Here's the part that matters most
In both videos I said the same thing: even if they find it, people won't just start believing. Turns out Jesus said that first. In His story about the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man begs for a miracle so his brothers will believe. Here's the answer he gets:
If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.Luke 16:31 (NLT)
If a resurrection won't convince a hard heart, a boat won't either. And Noah himself didn't need proof. He had God's word:
It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.Hebrews 11:7 (NLT)
Your turn
If they confirmed it tomorrow, do you think it would change anyone's mind? Tell me in the comments on the video.
